The project ran at our web-site www.maidan.no/direct-flights, between 3 February and 1 March 2017, and consisted of:
- Travel Survey for current and potential travellers between Norway and Ukraine

We want to sincerely thank all of you for taking your time to participate in our project. 588 people answered our Travel Survey, 1239 people signed our petition and we received 4 contributions for our video-contest.
The winner of the 3 prizes of NOK 300 for participating in the Travel Survey was Nataliya Bevza, Khrystyna Dynko and email@example.com. (Will the latter please get in touch with us?)
The winner of the Norwegian-Ukrainian Video Contest was The Ukrainian School in Oslo, and all the contributions can be seen at Facebook-page for the project.
When can we expect direct flights between Norway and Ukraine?
On March 2nd, ambassador of Ukraine to Norway, Viacheslav Yatsiuk, together with Kjartan Pedersen, managing director of Norwegian-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce (NUCC), had a meeting with Norwegian Air Shuttle. For the meeting, NUCC shared the preliminary report from the Direct Flights project (Norwegian has since received the final report as well).
The outcome of the meeting with Norwegian was promising. Norwegian Air Shuttle is indeed looking into the prospects of resuming flights between Oslo and Kyiv. That said, nothing has been decided yet, but the word is that such flights may start this autumn or spring 2018. This also coincides with the information we have received back from Avinor.
The final report has also been shared with the Norwegian embassy in Kyiv, relevant airport authorities in Norway and Ukraine, relevant airline companies, together with tourism, conference and investment agencies in Ukraine and Norway.
